Overview & Highlights

Carriage & Horses Steak House, nestled in the charming town of Pine Mountain, GA, offers an exquisite dining experience that masterfully combines classic steakhouse fare with an intimate, warm atmosphere. Housed within a beautifully restored Victorian-era horse farm house, this restaurant exudes old-world charm and character that transports guests to a more refined era of dining.

The cuisine here is a celebration of quality and craftsmanship. From the first bite, you’ll appreciate the care put into every dish. Start your meal with tempting appetizers such as the succulent Shrimp Cocktail, delicate Crab Cakes, tender Escargot, or the savory Spanakopita — each priced just right at $12.00 and designed to whet your appetite for the main event.

The star of the menu undoubtedly lies in the expertly prepared steaks and seafood entrees. The Filet Mignon and Ribeye, both served with creamy mashed potatoes, fresh seasonal vegetables, and a rich demi-glaze sauce, are cooked to perfection—each bite melting effortlessly in your mouth with flavors that resonate deeply. For seafood lovers, the Two Lobster Tails and the Filet & Lobster Tail pairing elevate the meal to a decadent level, with luscious shells steamed and paired beautifully with complementary sides and sauces. The Fish of the Day offers a lighter yet equally tantalizing option, served atop herb rice with fresh vegetables and drizzled with velvety hollandaise. All entrees hover around $35 to $60, reflecting the premium quality and care that goes into each plate.

Your meal doesn’t end without indulging in one of their heavenly desserts—choose from classic Philadelphia Cheesecake, decadent Tiramisu, or rich Turtle Cheesecake, each a perfect sweet finish priced at $8.00. The thoughtful dessert options cap off your elegant dining journey with a memorable note.

This mom and pop restaurant is reservations only and for good reason. The food is prepared fresh and the owner takes great pride in his menu. This “off the beaten path” venue offers ample room for large parties as well as an intimate setting for a more personal celebration. The owner personally cooked our meal's! Where else will you find that!?!

We had a wonderful experience. The filet was so good, it melted in your mouth. The rolls they provided came out hot and had a wonderful crust. The wine they selected paired just right with the meal. Mary was a wonderful waitress, so personable and kept us well hydrated.

This place is absolutely incredible. Finding a restaurant of this caliber along my drive was truly shocking. The moment I walked in I was transported to a different era. The food was fresh, hot, and absolutely delicious. The ribeye was one of the best I have ever eaten. What made this experience unforgettable though was the owner Dagher, such a welcoming, fun, kind man and wow what a cook! I can’t wait to go back!

After reading all the great reviews I finally made a reservation for 5:30 on a Thursday. I intentionally made it during the week so it wouldn't be as busy. They open at 5:30 so when I arrived there was just one couple there and I was dining alone. I was greeted and seated by the owner and chef. He was super friendly and personable and the waitress was the best I've ever had. He brought the fresh bread and she quickly brought the salad. The ginger house dressing was definitely the best dressing I've had and was probably my favorite part of the meal. They didn't have the crab cakes so I'll have to try them next time. I ordered the salmon, rice, and vegetables. I personally prefer my salmon less "crusty" and more softly cooked but it was still good. I ordered plain cheesecake with chocolate drizzle to go but when I got home it was the turtle cheesecake. It was super sweet and was a good portion size and it was a happy accident so I was thankful about it. I can't wait to go back and try all the things as I'm sure he doesn't serve anything that I wouldn't enjoy.

We’re staying at Callaway and were looking online for a good dinner spot — Carriage and Horses definitely did not disappoint! We called around 7 PM and were able to get a reservation for 7:30 PM. The food was really good (I even asked for extra bread ) Dagher and Mary were so warm and welcoming. Mary even asked what salad dressing I’d like — I couldn’t decide, so she kindly offered me both Great find, great food, and even better service. Totally worth it!!!

Dagger and his staff are wonderful! When we had our wedding reception dinner here for 25+ guests, we had such a pleasant evening. Dagger promptly responded to all calls and texts. He was flexible and adaptable as we planned. He even went above and beyond by getting flowers for the table after I forgot to bring some. He paid attention to every detail for the evening and provided such a nice environment for us to congregate and celebrate the occasion. He and his staff didn't even mind staying late after their usual closing time for our event. On top of all that, we thoroughly enjoyed the food. This is such a great alternative to eating inside the gardens, especially when you have Dagger who will make sure you are thoroughly taken care of. We look forward to celebrating our anniversary dinners with you!

My mom, sister and I made an impromptu visit to Callaway Gardens for my birthday. We went down to restaurant in Lodge and menu was very small. We decided to go to Carriage and Horses located within a few miles. It is located in a renovated old horse farm house turned restaurant. The atmosphere is intriguing with lots of horse decor . The service was fabulous by Mary and Tatiana. The owner and chef Dagher stayed open for our special evening and made sure that all of our expectations were not only met but exceeded. If in the area or just looking for a unique outing with delicious food. Call and go visit this establishment in Pine Mtn.

A must-visit Pine Mountain destination. This charming Old Victorian Home boasts a stunning dining space. Dinner, skillfully prepared by Owner/Chef Dagger, was exceptional. Mary's impeccable service ensured our every need was met, making for a truly unforgettable experience. We left with full bellies and new friends. Merry Christmas!
